The Black Keys
"Weight of Love," the brooding, psychedelic seven-minute opener from the Black Keys' 2014 album Turn Blue might seem like an odd candidate for a music video, but director Theo Wenner thought otherwise. Wenner and the Keys have shared a cinematic clip for "Weight of Love," which stars supermodel Lara Stone as the leader of a cult of women who like to hang out on beaches and in cornfields and partake in synchronized group exercises.
It starts off with an allusion to the video for the Black Keys' "Fever," which Wenner also directed. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney played sweaty '80s televangelists in that clip, which appears throughout the "Weight of Love" video as this mysterious group of women engage in their daily lives. Over the course of the video, the mood progresses from serene to intense, as the women begin to channel the vibes of the crazed men on their television set.
